With an adorable, occasional stutter, he refuses to take no for an answer.
Once the weekend begins, Trey is intent on proving how good they can be together. Willow’s even feeling tempted to break her vow—until reality rudely interrupts her well-deserved getaway. There’s no way she and Trey have a future, not with the colossal amount of baggage Willow has to offer.

My Review

3.5 - 4 stars and 5 stars at times also

This is my second book in the series having also read book 3 and enjoying that a loti did have high expectations for this one. I did find the story idea great and I liked Trey especially his vulnerability not so much when he was being a bit cocky but that wasn't too often. I liked Willow and could really sympathise with her and how difficult things would be for her. However I also found it a bit of a slow burn. It was well over halfway when I got to the point where I found I was finally sucked into the book and didn't want to put it down. Up until then I had liked the book but just not been drawn in deeply. Aside from this I liked seeing the other characters and I am keen to read their stories at some point. Overall is was a good read and you wouldn't have to had read the previous books for this to make sense.

I have to say when I got to the end and read the authors acknowledgement I was better able to understand why this felt different and it might have been better for that to be at the start. That being said this book touches on topics that need to be spoken and written about more so it becomes less stigmatised so my hat goes off to her for getting it out there.

⠀ Meet the infamous Ross, black sheep of the family and bully extraordinaire. I drink too much, smoke too much, screw around. I’ve hurt people, been in and out of prison. I’m a bastard, a beast. I’m a goddamn bundle of joy. I mean, my own dad tried to kill me, what does that tell you? Then again, my dad did kill my mom, so maybe it isn’t just me. Who the hell knows. The world sucks and I’m giving it the finger in every damn way, except… Except there’s a girl. Pretty. Hot. Clever. She didn’t get the memo – that she should hate me, shun me, kick me when I’m down. That the world screwed us all over. She believes in the future – and sometimes she seems to even believe in me. Big mistake. I’m bad news. I made her suffer in the past, and nothing has changed. I’m not an angel, not a saint. No good. But for some reason I don’t get, I can’t let her go down with me. I find myself trying to be better for her, pretending to be someone I’m not. And if that doesn’t ring some damn big alarm bells regarding my sanity, well… then I’m done already.

 * This is the story of Ross, half-brother to Octavia, Gigi and Merc, set in the Wild Men series

* Coming soon. ⠀ #Ross #NoSaint #Bullyromance #JoRaven #NewRelease

 EXCERPT
Real life outside school is different. It has to be. I have to believe it. Luna the frightened unpopular girl is gone, too. Now I am the new Luna, and like the new moon I am in darkness until I reveal myself, reborn. Hey, it sounds good in theory, all right? It gives me a plan, a purpose. I can do this. Be the new me who isn’t so shy and insecure, who doesn’t go red when someone laughs or points at her. I am good enough. I need to believe it. Who cares if I’m not all that pretty? I’ve brains, and smarts, and I will make something of my life. Once I get through this Summer, that is. And save some money. And decide what I do next. My cousin says I should get a degree, maybe in web design and graphics. Move to a city, get a good job in a company. That I can do it. My thoughts return to Ross and what my dad and Josh said about him. That he’s still here. Hanging around. That his dad attacked him. That’s so screwed up. Worse still, why can’t I get him out of my mind? It’s hard to stop thinking about him. Not only because he taunted me and tormented me—but also because he was the sexiest, hottest guy in school. And the world, probably. What a pity he’s such an asshole.

My Review

Why don't all series come with a book like this. I often find myself thinking about the stories and characters and wondering what they would be doing now and this book answers that for me. It was so nice to touch base with where all of the couples were now.

It was kind of sad to see them growing up and having to deal with real life issues but it did just make me love them that much more.

Also knowing that the series was really ending made me really want to slow down and savour the book but at the same time I just couldn't put it down. I will have to go back and read it again soon but not before I reread Deke again (still my fave with Talon and Miller close 2nd not that I'd pick a fave wink wink)

I have liked m/m books for a while but this series took things to a new level for me. There were not real stereotypes and each guy had their own issues that made me open my eyes to maybe some of my own behaviours so I am so glad to have been a part of this world and am super sad it's ending but have to love getting a very special where are they now story. Thanks Eden.

Tug -- Marie James -- Cerebus #10

Tug by Marie James

Amazon: US | UK | CA | AU

Genre: MC Romance
Series: Cerberus MC; Book 10

The plans I made for my life didn't pan out.

I walked away from my best friend, my lover, the only man I could see spending my life with to make a career of being a Marine, but it didn't happen.

A car accident took him away from me before I realized the mistake I'd made.

Now, thirteen years later, I've met a woman and a man who makes everything seem ideal.

He's perfect in a familiar kind of way, and she's the kind of brand new you can't get enough of.

It's just my luck that one's a ghost and the other is my boss's daughter.

These plans may not pan out either.

**This is NOT a paranormal romance **
**Tug is a standalone MMF novel in an interconnected series**

My review
****

I really love the Cerebus series and I enjoy a mmf book as well so this should have been right for me but it fell a little short and it's hard to put my finger on what it was that felt off, maybe it was the never ending conflict between the three characters. I just needed them to be a bit happier together to make me feel like they really liked each other. I still enjoyed the story and seeing all the characters is always nice.

I have to disagree with some of the reviews that suggest this book was like so many mmf books where someone is left out. I thought the author did an amazing job making everyone come across as important as the other. There was an old bond between Tug and Max that Jasmine doesn't have but her new connection was very strong with both guys. So that wasn't a problem for me. It was just that constant drama between them that frustrated me. If it wasn't one it was the other with an issue and I just wanted them to get together already.

I am glad this author takes the risk in her series to try new genres and Snatch is still my favorite story in the series and I hope she keeps exploring new genres or more mm. I will continue to follow the Cerebus guys how could I not and the ending of Tug will leaving you wanting more.

Hat Trick - Eden Finley -Book 5 plus my review

Release Date: November 7, 2019
Genre: M/M Sports Romance
Cover Design: Kellie Dennis / Book Cover by Design
Model: Preston T.
Photographer: Wander Aguiar

Synopsis

Soren:
You know what’s not fun? Going on a Fiji vacation with four other couples.

Especially when recently single.

What’s even worse is when a past hook-up arrives unannounced.

Not only do we have a history, but he’s ten years younger and a famous rock star. Most importantly, he’s my friend’s little brother.

Being trapped on an island with Jet Jackson is going to be sweet torture because all I want is another chance.

I just don’t think he’s going to give it to me.

Jet:
You know what’s not fun? Escaping one guy who broke my heart only to run into another.

Being on the road for three years has left me exhausted. The last thing I want is for Caleb ‘Soren’ Sorensen to try for round two.

I can’t fight my draw to him. I’ve never been able to.

I’m suddenly back to being the naïve kid who stupidly lusted after a hockey player.

All I can think is if I let Soren get close, I’ll walk away from this vacation with a double broken heart.

My review
it was amazing

Hat Trick by Eden Finley
Oh my goodness Jet and Soren. I loved this book because their storyline was so moving but also because we got to see where all the other couples were at in their lives and seeing as I have reread the books a few times I so happy to see where they are at now.
I really love how Eden Finley writes her stories. The balance between getting to know the characters on many levels, humour and steam is always spot on and Hat Trick was no different. We got to see the vulnerable sides of Jet and Soren as well as the face they show everyone else. You get to see the mess that goes along with relationships not just an endless highlights reel. I love this series because to me these characters feel so real and that is done with some pretty special writing. I'm not going to lie I am now obsessed with ice hockey even though I live in a country where it is not even a thing and that's partly to do with this series.
If you have read the first few books then you MUST read this and you won't be disappointed and if you have not started the seies then I can highly recommend it.

Download your copy today or read FREE in Kindle Unlimited!

The Complete Darkest Sunrise Duet:
When my son was six months old, he was kidnapped, plunging my life into darkness.

After ten years, people expected me to move on like he had never existed. But I was stuck in a holding pattern of guilt and regret, unable to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

It wasn’t until I met Porter Reese—a man who was just as broken as I was—that I found hope for another sunrise.

No questions.
No judgement.
No faking it.
Just two people alone in the darkness.

If only he’d promised me no lies, too.

Across the Horizon is a full length spin-off about Porter’s younger brother, celebrity chef Tanner Reese.

“Sometimes love happens when you least expect it.” That was what my husband’s mistress told me the day I found out about their affair.

I didn’t believe it until five minutes later when mouth-watering celebrity chef Tanner Reese walked up, tossed his arm around my shoulders, and told my cheating husband to take a hike.

Tanner and I couldn’t have been more different. He spent his weekends at clubs, rubbing elbows with fellow A-listers. I spent mine in yoga pants with cheese boards and a glass of wine—or six.

Our relationship shouldn’t have worked, but it did. That is until Tanner proved to me that even though love happens when you least expect it...

So does heartbreak.

Title: ICED
Series: Boston Terriers Hockey
Author: Jacob Chance
Genre: Sports Romance
Release Date: November 1, 2019

Oliver Ice, one of Boston University’s notorious hockey players, has been on my radar since I slammed into his rock-hard body during my first week of college, three years ago. He helped me to my feet, muttered an apology, and ran off after his girlfriend, dashing my hopes of a happily ever after.
Now, he’s the bartender where I work, and this time, very much single. Night after night I watch the tall, broad, and sexy right winger mixing drinks and being Mr. Personality, while I remind myself how horribly my last relationship ended.
But when Oliver overhears a private conversation, he offers to be the one thing I need more than anything-- my pretend boyfriend at a dreaded family reunion.
One weekend was all it was meant to be.
How do I protect my fragile heart when the lines between fantasy and reality blur with our first kiss?

My review
Just a note to say that I have not read book 1 in this series and even though some characters popped in who I imagine are from other books I was able to enjoy the book without reading the others.

This is a really sweet book. Both characters are kind hearted and nice and even though they have both been through a rough patch neither are whiney and annoying which is a really refreshing change. You want these guys to have a happy ending because they totally deserve each other and happiness.

There is a really great balance in this book of interesting storyline, getting to know the characters and of course some steam. Even though the hockey/college storyline has been written about a lot this still felt fresh and different.

I have to say I have become a fan of the authors writing style and want to read moredand recommend you take a chance on Oliver and Ava's story.
