BANNER-LIVE

What do you do when you’re the reigning kissing booth champion but the only person you want to kiss is your best friend’s brother?

Kiss Me Not, an all-new hilarious brother's best friend romance from New York Times bestselling author Emma Hart is available now!

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000035_00027]
Let me make this clear right here, right now: I, Halley Dawson, do not care that Preston Wright is kissing other women.
Not a lick. Not at all. Nuh-uh- freakin’-uh.
I do care that he’s doing it six feet away from me behind a gaudy velvet curtain—making him my competition in this year’s kissing contest.
Why do I care, you ask? Because I’ve had an unfortunate crush on the insufferable idiot since I was sixteen years old, but I also know it’s never going to happen.
He’s the Creek Falls bachelor to die for, and I’m the Creek Falls racoon lady who puts peanut butter sandwiches out for them every night.
I’m not going to let him break my four-year-long reign—no matter how many times he breaks the rules and slides the curtain across to do the one thing he’s not allowed to:
Kiss me.

Excerpt:
“I never answered your question.” “What question?” I darted my eyes to the side. “Just now. You asked me if I wanted to kiss you.” I did, didn’t I? Right. “Oh,” was all I said. Slowly, he moved his hand to my chin and gently lifted it. Still, I didn’t look at him, keeping my eyes firmly trained on the front of the tent, even though I was facing him. “Halley.” “Yeah?” “I want to kiss you.” My eyes darted to his. “I thought that’d do it.” His lips twitched, and he lowered his head until I had to fight the urge to close my eyes in anticipation of the kiss that was coming. I swallowed, my lips parting. Preston moved closer. And he kissed my cheek. I jerked out of whatever trance I’d just been in. “What the hell?” He jumped off the stage, grinning. “I guess we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to break the stalemate, won’t we?” “Oh, hell no!” I jumped off, stalking him to his side of the stage. “You just stood there in front of me and told me you want to kiss me, then kiss my cheek? The hell was that?” His eyebrows shot up, amusement flashing in his eyes. “If I didn’t know better, I’d think you wanted to kiss me, too.” “Irrelevant,” I shot back. “But you’re a special kind of asshole to tell a girl you wanna kiss her and then not do it.” I turned around, then stopped. “You know what? When I beat you tomorrow, you can kiss my ass.” “You’re way too mad about this.” “I’m not mad!” My voice raised a few octaves. “I couldn’t care if you want to kiss me or not. I most certainly don’t want to kiss you.” “Why are you shouting at me?” “I’m not—” I was shouting at him. “Whatever,” I said in a normal voice. “Make sure you take that money to the bank. Tell Tish I sent you.” I left him on his side of the curtain and went to get my purse. He could get fucked. After all that where I think I was so damn nervous I broke a sweat, he didn’t even kiss me. I wasn’t lying with what I said. He could kiss my ass. I’d even wear my good panties and bend over for him.

My Review
3.5-4 stars

I am a bit on the fence with this story. I loved the idea and I even liked the characters and at times I was really enjoying the story. Then there were time when I couldn't feel their connection and I was wondering why they had crushes on each other at all. Halley was supposed to be a kind girl but at times she was really not. Her behaviour is explained in the story but I think the writer sometimes crosses the line with sass and rude in my opinion which meant I couldn't really connect with Halley well at times.
I do find I have an up and down relationship with Emma Hart. I either really love her books or find them a bit above my humour. This one while has great promise might be a bit above me. However if you like a sassy leading lady then you will love Halley and her friends.
I did love that some characters from another story dropped by and Halley's friends are funny side kicks. I thought Preston was a bit of a dream boat too so there was a lot to like as well .
I think a lot of people will really like this story but it fell a little flat for me especially as I had loved her previous book so much.

Wild Steamy Hook-Up -Piper Rayne plus review

He’s the quiet brooding guy who’s owned my heart since I was sixteen but has refused to claim it.
I’m the naïve woman who believes that someday our time will come.
I just didn’t realize that someday would include waking up in Vegas with a raging hangover and a ring on my finger.
If we believed in fate, maybe one of us would’ve trusted that something more powerful than ourselves interceded because our love is one of tangled vines. As twisted and frayed as they’ve become over the years, they’ve never broken.
An annulment seemed like the easy way out. We should’ve known it wouldn’t be fate that intervened, but our Italian Mamas. They can deliver Oscar-worthy performances when heaping on the guilt.

We thought it’d be easy to pretend to be a happily married couple in front of our families for three months and then say we gave it our best shot and go our separate ways.
But nothing is easy when it comes to Dominic Mancini and me. Nothing. to pretend to be a happily married couple in front of our families for three months and then say we gave it our best shot and go our separate ways.

My Review

Piper Rayne really hit this one out of the park. The characters were amazing and lived up to all of my expectations. The second chance story felt fresh and like something I hadn't read before and they had me feeling emotional and frustrated time and time again. This is another 5* Piper Rayne read.

Book three is all about Dominic and really if you read book 2 you would be well aware as to why I was itching for this book to come out and as usual I wasn't disappointed. Dominic is everything they promised he would be, strong and brooding. He is also sexy and vulnerable and a gentleman. This all adds up to make him quite a potent leading man.

Val is a great leading lady. She is strong and capable in her own right. She is also vulnerable and has a truck load of baggage like Dom.

These two took me on a real journey where I was cheering them on or yelling at them to get their act together and I loved it. I also loved the supporting characters they really help bring this story to another level.

The only problem with finishing a Piper Rayne story is waiting for the next one.

Magnetic - Anya J. Cosgrove

Title: Magnetic
Author: Anya J. Cosgrove
Genre: Reverse Harem Shifter Romance
Release Date: August 8, 2019

Who said life was a fairy tale? Because I’d gladly slice that jerk’s head off.
I never expected to end up half-naked in the woods with my guts hanging out. I didn’t plan to stumble upon the most powerful shifter clan in North America and three of the sexiest men I’ve ever laid eyes on.
Dominic, the fun and reckless new wolf.
Sam, the hot doctor with glacial-blue eyes.
And Gabriel, the intense, secretive alpha who wants nothing to do with me.
My real name is a one-way ticket back to hell, and my secrets need to stay buried like the girl I used to be.
Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Red Riding Hood—I can be all three. I can use my powers to earn a place in their werewolf town, away from the bite of my past mistakes. I can use them—and their bodies—to survive.
The only thing I can’t do is fall for them.

What would Buffy do? Kick ass!

My Review

This was such a different book for me. I have read reverse harem before but not mixed with shifters and vampires and even the main character Vicky's "skill" was so different. I wasn't sure as I started reading if I was going to like it much but as I got into the book I found myself hooked.

This story is kind of a three "guys" and 1 "girl" situation but it isn't really that until quite towards the end where things happen that had my head turning and then the book was over. I would have loved to have seen more of the relationships develop once they had all finally got on board but unfortunately that was the end. That is my one negative so it's not too bad.

I have not read any other books from this author so I was in for a pleasant surprise. I liked the unique way the group came together slowly and the story was well written and flowed along nicely but I just needed more. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
