ILLUSION—NOUN
A deceptive appearance or impression.
Life is an illusion. A mirage of what you want people to see.
I’ve perfected mine.
I let people judge me for who they think I am, not willing to bare my true self.
But perception isn’t reality.
Reality is painful, full of sorrow and sins.
I keep my secrets guarded closely, not willing to let them free.
But it only takes one person to see you—the real you—for your mask to evaporate.
One look. One promise.
Life will never be the same again.
Abigail Davies grew up with a passion for words, storytelling, maths, and anything pink. Dreaming up characters—quite literally—and talking to them out loud is a daily occurrence for her. She finds it fascinating how a whole world can be built with words alone, and how everyone reads and interprets a story differently. Now following her dreams of writing, Abigail has found the passion that she always knew was there. When she’s not writing: she’s a mother to two daughters who she encourages to use their imagination as she believes that it’s a magical thing, or getting lost in a good book. If she’s doing neither of those things, you can be sure she’s surfing the web buying new makeup, clothes, or binge watching another show as she becomes one with her sofa.

My Review

OMG. I read this book about a week ago but didn't know how to write a review that would capture everything I felt but here it goes.

I have been on the MAC security journey from the start and not one of the characters have had an easy road but I felt like each story got progressively harder.

I recently finished Reboot and that shocked me but then Catching Teardrops comes along and even though I went in with no preconceived ideas of what would be in it I was still BLOWN away. Nothing I could have ever dreamt up would compete with what Abigail Davies put Lily and Luke through. I felt like my heart had gone through the wringer reading about that poor girl when I noticed I was only at 50% completed. I had to put the book down for a day because I knew there had to be more coming and that there was no way her HEA was close and I was emotionally exhausted.

In saying that I am so glad I read the book. It is like no other I have read before and it has stayed with me even though I have since finished other books.

I don't need to tell you about the characters other than to say Lily is as tough as nails and her life brought me to tears repeatedly  and Luke is a very deserving knight who needs a little rescuing too.

This book is not for the light hearted but I'm guessing you have read books 1-4 already so you know things can get dark. Just a warning Catching Teardrops is of a  more disturbing nature to read in my opinion but maybe because it all felt so real and that's full credit to an amazing author.
