From a duo of USA Today Bestselling Authors, comes the first COMPLETE STANDALONE in the Single Dads Club set of books.

Red Flags…

Too loud.
Too clingy.
Too much make-up.

I could go on and on. The other guys in the Single Dad’s Club would say I’m obsessed with finding them. But none of their kid’s mothers call a maximum-security prison home either, so their opinions mean shit.

Caterina Santora has her own list of red flags…

She’s too young.
She’s my client’s daughter.
She’s my five-year old’s camp counselor.

Even after repeating this mantra to myself every morning on the way to Lily’s summer camp, guess what happens the moment I see Cat? Yeah, that mantra turns into ride me, doggie style and reverse cowgirl.

Every. Damn. Time.

The fact that she doesn’t remember me from six years before grates on me until I don’t have it in me to leave her alone any longer. I have to have her. But our lives are opposites in every way. In no way compatible.

When we’re together all the complications fade away and I have to keep reminding myself, even if I can have her— I can’t keep her.

Hope
Daily life is like one big, massive chore. I work to pay the bills, I live in a crap little one story house with unstable beams and I have debt collectors on my back. Not cool right? My dad died a few months ago and he left a shit storm in his wake. I’m screwed and I’m alone.

Ghosts of my past haunt me daily. Life goes on by but I’m stuck in my head, stuck in the past. Dad created a sick version of hell and I’m about to live it. Will anyone save me? Am I on my own like I am in reality? I hope someone becomes my knight in shining armour. These men… They’re dangerous and I have no clue how to escape.

Mack

Loneliness is a constant feeling in my bones, weariness of runs with the club have me wanting to rip my hair out. I stay calm and collected for my brothers. I’m the Prez and I am not weak. But seeing everyone shacking up with woman, getting Old Ladies, it makes me want it too.

News of an abduction reaches us, the Devil Heads MC are making a move and they’re causing hell wherever they go. Do we jump the gun and take the fuckers down? Or do we sit back and wait for their next move?

My Review

I have been reading along with this series and even though MC is not my favourite romance style I am enjoying these.

This story is about Hope and Mack. I really connected with Hope and was able to see a lot of myself in her. Her life was handing her a bunch of lemons but she was doing all that she could to make the most with what she had.
Mack is the MC Prez and he has his own demons and was tired of fighting them on his own. His gruff nature would be enough to scare off most women but not hope.
These two had to endure quite a lot in this book you were just praying for some happiness for them.
If you like books that are all sunshine and unicorns then this isn't for you. If you like a bit of grit with your romance then give this a go.

"This story was brutal truth wrapped in hope, courage and unflinching love. It's a must read. It's a STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND READ THIS NOW kind of book. Don't hold your breath, this story will steal it from you." - J. Sterling, NYT Bestselling Author
A FORBIDDEN LOVE SET IN THE EXPLOSIVE WORLD OF THE NBA... Think you know what it's like being a baller's girl? You don't. My fairy tale is upside down. A happily never after. I kissed the prince and he turned into a fraud. I was a fool, and his love - fool's gold. Now there's a new player in the game, August West. One of the NBA's brightest stars. Fine. Forbidden. He wants me. I want him. But my past, my fraudulent prince, just won't let me go. *Author's Note: There are aspects of this story that may be sensitive for some readers.

“Iris?” August’s frown, the concern on his face, in his voice, remind me where I am. “Baby, you okay?”
I blink down at him dumbly, swallowing my tears, eating my memories whole and digesting a nightmare from long ago. I nod, my lips a cold, wobbly curve.
“Kiss me,” he whispers, his eyes so tender, so intent.
I remember a magical night under the stars, under a streetlight on the eve of greatness. A night filled with laughter and confidences, pregnant with promise. And I see him so clearly, my prince, asking for a kiss.
And I do.
I kiss him like the world might end tonight because I’ll never take this for granted. Not his kindness, when I’ve known cruelty all too well. Not his tenderness, when I’ve been handled roughly in the past. Not his love, when I’ve been possessed and owned and mistreated.
He thaws me with his kiss, my prince, and I melt into him. We’re chest to chest, with August’s number crushed between us. I take his cock in my hand, aligning our bodies, and two become one in a carnal slide of flesh. I anchor myself by my elbows hooked around his neck, and we kiss until I’m dizzy and our breaths tangle in a cloud of bliss. Under the jersey, his palm spans my back, digging into the naked flesh as our hips lock and roll and grind. My body clenches around him, and we pray, we curse, we moan, we mate like our bodies were made for this moment.
Ours is a love that reimagines—that peels back the sky at high noon searching for the stars, collecting them like shells in a bucket. We bathe in stardust, drink from the Milky Way, and dance on the moon. We pierce the firmament, peer into infinity, and tread on time and space. There is no before. There is no after. Now gives birth to forever. This moment may die, but this love never will. Time is not a line. It’s a circle, and we, August and Iris, we stand at the center.

My Review

I have just finished this book and I can't tell you how moved I am. I'm not sure why I picked this, I think it's because I like sports romance but I got so much more than I bargained for.
This book is about August and Iris and a connection that I have only seen a few times in other books. It doesn't matter how far apart they are it is always there.
These two choose a path that is long and hard. It was very difficult to read at times. I felt like I was right there with Iris and it hurt but once I had started this book, no matter how ugly things in the story got I couldn't stop reading.
You could see things slowly go from bad to worse and you got an understanding on how people end up in the situation they always promise they never would.
August turned out to be one of the best men I have ever read. He is such a beautiful soul and he is the type of guy you wish there were more of in the world.
  • This book is very graphic. It is not a light hearted sports romance it is so much more. You go deep inside the darkness with the characters but if you hold onto the end I promise it is all worth it.
