So I have found my new fave series to read. My sister actually suggested it to me a while ago and while I got the books I never read them and was about to delete them when I had 2nd thoughts and started reading book one: Very Bad Things by Isla Madden-Mills. I was so hooked I didn't stop
reading until 2am then couldn't wait to finish it off the next day.
Briarcrest Academy is a very exclusive and expensive private school in Texas and most of the kids there are privileged but that doesn't mean they are happy or without their fair share of secrets and pain. It really made me glad to be middle class to be honest. I don't think I will ever look at rich kids the same.
Book 1 is based on rocker/gym owner Leo who came from no money to being quite successful. He meets Nora. She is the school brain and her family is very wealthy. People just assume that Nora has a charmed life but that is far from the truth. Leo first meets Nora while attending an assembly with his younger brother Sebastian ( who has his own book, #3 I can't wait I think it might be my fave in the series, just sayin') Their eyes meet and they connect instantly. Leo gets a small look into Nora's life but doesn't understand had desperate she is. Leo tries to fight his feeling for the younger Nora but and his stupidity almost costs him the girl.
This book is moving, funny, sweet, dark and at times very sad. Upon finishing Very Bad Things I had to get straight onto Very Wicked Beginnings which is the story of Cuba and Dovey. This is a prequel to their story Very Wicked Things. I'm almost done and I can tell you I am as struck as I was in Book 1. So much drama and unhappiness in their lives but I am hoping for a happy ending for these two they really both deserve it no matter what Cuba thinks, poor guy, I just want to give him a giant hug and tell him to stop pushing all the good things away, grr frustrating boy.
If you are looking for a new series to start I fully recommend you take a look at this one.
