Deviant and Redemption Tour

Synopsis

DEVIANT

***Warning: Contains strong language, violence and scenes of an explicit nature***

Most fairy tales end with a happily ever after.

This is not a fairy tale. He is not her Prince Charming about to whisk her away into the sunset. This is a story about betrayal, lust, desire and, ultimately, revenge...

And revenge can only lead to one thing.

 Tyler

He was my stranger, my visitor, my shadow in the corner of my room. He stalked me, watched me, knew everything about me. But all I could do was sit and wait. I waited for him to visit me night after night. He was becoming my addiction, my craving, my obsession. He knew every inch of me, but I knew nothing about
                                                               him.

His calls himself Lotus and, as crazy as it sounds, I think Im falling in love.

Dean

I wanted to take her, possess her, dominate her, and ruin her. I wanted to ravish her, please her, and consume her until I couldnt take much more of her.

She will want me to kiss her. She will want me to hold her all night so that she feels a connection with me. I would make it so that she would seek me out in the dark. The one that satisfies her ultimate fantasy. A stranger who sneaks into her room. Someone who gives her the ultimate pleasure, but also seeks to give her ultimate pain. Pain she has never had to endure. Pain that will eat away at her until there is nothing left.

She was my nemesis, I was her lotus. And payback was a bitch.

 Book 2

Synopsis

How could anyone move on from a betrayal so devastating, it cut down to the bone and rooted itself deep within? You could never forgive such heartache…

Or could you?

From the moment Tyler was six, she fell in love with that cocky eight-year-old boy with the black spiky hair, captivating blues eyes, and scruffy uniform. From the moment he punched a boy for hurting her, Tyler knew there was no going back. They were always meant to be together...

 Always.

Then everything changed. The stage was set like a tragic Shakespearean play, and Tylers and Deans worldas they knew ithad ended.

 Or had it?

 Tyler

My name was Jessica now. I faked my own death, changed my identity, and moved thousands of miles across the ocean just to escape the one man I would never get out of my heart. I had a four-year-old son I adored more than anything in the world. On one fateful, horrific night, the life I knew disappeared in the blink of an eye. I left people behind. People I cared about. People I would never forget. People I loved.

But had I truly moved on?

No one said leaving behind the one man you had loved since you were six would be easy. I lived life day-to-day. I even met a man and tried to settle down. Evan was a man any woman would desire. So why could I not love him the way he obviously loved me? Why couldnt I move past the dark-haired, blue-eyed boy who consumed my every thought? I may have left him, but he had never truly left me.

I could never love another man. Dean made sure of that the day he breezed into my life. I was only half a woman now. I had been broken and bruised by the one man I thought I could always love and trust. How could I let go of something like that? I suppose I just had to. I was just getting by with each day that passed. I was coping. I was managing, and that was keeping me from falling apart.

But then disaster struck again. And it was on that day…

Everything changed.

 Dean

You cant hide forever, Tyler. I will always be hunting you, always be searching, and will never give up. If there was ever one certainty in your life, it was that. You slipped through my fingers, not once but twice. You took my heart with you when you left me that day. No amount of alcohol, women, or punching bags would block you from my mind. You couldnt be dead. I wouldnt allow you to be dead. Youre out there somewhere. I must congratulate you that you had evaded me for this long. You always were a smart girl. How could I not have fallen in love with you? You did escape me this time, but I will find you, Tyler. I promise you that. And when that day comes…

I will finally make you MINE.

Deviant And Redemption Jaimie Roberts sooooooo gooooood

Deviant (Deviant, #1)

A MUST READ

Ok, so i was having a conversation with my book writing friends, talking about what genres we might like to tackle that would stretch us. My friends said she would like to write a stalker book and i couldn't help but cringe. Yuck! What could be hot or romantic about a stalker?
When this book came up as a book i could review my first thought was no thanks but i didn't delete it. I even went to Amazon to see what other reviews were saying about it. After a day or two i thought, what the heck let me give this book a go, try something different. I am so glad i did.

So let me tell you why i liked this book. It is supposed to be this dark romance about a stalker. It was about that but so much more. The main characters Tyler and Dean met in primary school and had a connection from the start. The book pops back and forth to their memories of their friendship as they grew up from innocent kids to not so innocent teenagers. It was really nice to see their relationship bloom like that.

Flash forward to now and Tyler is being visited by a stalker and has been for three years. She doesn't feel threatened at all which helps ease the reader's  mind but what also helps is that we are aware it's Dean doing it, so for some reason it doesn't come across quite as creepy.

There is also a story going on apart from the stalking where Tyler meets a young sick boy named Jeremy. She tries to help him and it becomes a really emotional part of the book. It was a nice break from the stalking plot, it also showed Tyler as a caring person. If i could change one thing in the book it would be how this part ended, but i won't give that away.

If you like to read a book with twists then this is the book for you. There were a few twists that you could see coming or maybe guess at but when i got to the end of the book i couldn't speak. I have to spend another half hour going back to other part of the book to look at clues the author had set up and couldn't believe it. (Not to give anything way but a few more things are explained in book 2). There were things happen that i couldn't have picked ever. I've read my fair share of books (maybe more than my share haha) but i have never had a book leave me so out of sorts with the twists and ending.

So Dean/Lotus wanted to get revenge on Tyler for something he thought she had done in childhood. What i loved though was every time he tried to do something to hurt her it usually backfired and made him fall for her more, making him weaker to her. It was like he was the stalker but she held a lot of the power. Be warned, he does hurt her, not so much physically, but emotionally, but again his revenge bites him on the butt as it ends up hurting and breaking him as much as it does her. I think that makes him redeemable. He isn't heartless, just hurt from the past.

I can't believe i'm so passionate about this sort of book,  but it was less dark and more romantic than i imagined it could be.

I am part way through book 2 and i am really rooting for this couple.

Book 2

Wow, what can i say, this was a great way to finish of the series. Redemption was more of an emotional roller coaster, compared to Deviant, which had been more about twist and turns and mind games.
Redemption picks up four years later with Tyler moving and changing her name in an effort to get away from Dean, but let's face it, that's never going to be enough to stop Dean.
Dean manages to work his way back into Tyler's life but there are still some hurdles they need to overcome and there is the odd twist in this book just to keep it interesting.

Dean's friend Jimmy, and Tyler's friend Tara are an interesting side story that you can't help but love. They make a great couple, both been hurt but are finally willing to give love a go, with each other.

This book is nowhere near as Dark as Deviant, it is all about Dean trying to make amends for his past mistakes, and whether or not Tyler can move on from all the pain her caused her. We know she can't resist but she has to work a bit harder to forgive him.

I love that we get both points of view in these books because you can really get a sense of Dean's pain and how badly he feels for hurting Tyler. I'm not sure the book would have been as enjoyable from only Tyler's point of view.

You won't be disappointed with the finish. I was scared that the author wouldn't give me the HEA i was hoping for but all ended well. I look forward to reading more from Jaimie Roberts.

Keep posted for a special post about these two books on the 20th May, and i'm taking part in the Blog Tour for Deviant and Redemption and will be posting on the 27th May.

Novella Review - Just like in the movies by M.B. Feeney

Ok, so this is one of my first blog reviews of this sort. The author sent me a copy of this novella in exchange for a review and a plug on my blog so here it goes.

There is a lot to like about this novella. It is set out like a movie script and i really like
that. It is also not the run of the mill boy meets girl, they fall in love, have sex the end. This book feels like it would be suited to your late 20's or 30 year old that has also found themselves in that point in their lives where they are comfortable but not overly happy and starting to wonder is this it in life?

The main female character Ava is in a long term live in relationship with Marcus. They are comfortable with each other and that is what is holding them together. That is until Erica, Ava's friend talks her into a girlie escape for some R and R.
Now if you have read a few romance novels you know this is where Ava is going to meet her love interest. I was starting to cringe at this point because even though the author had done a great job of setting up Ava and Marcus' relationship as being all but over I don't really enjoy books that contain cheating.  So good news though folks, if you feel the same way as me rest assured this book does not cross that boundary thankfully.
Ava does meet a man on her trip and again if you know your romance books you know Morgan is being set up as the love interest, but intead of it being all hearts and flowers there is a lot of animosity between the two. Both characters feel an instant connection but it doesn't go as most other romance books would.

I really enjoyed this book but I have to keep reminding myself it was only a novella. I would have liked to have seen more of the Ava/Morgan romance. It felt like it was mostly them fighting and only a tiny bit together and while that was good because it was different, I was also left feeling like I wanted to know more. I felt like we saw more of Erica ans Liam's love story at times which was a nice side story that I would love to read more of too.

So to sum up, if you like novellas and like books that have a slightly different take on the same old same old love story then you will enjoy this.

Keep you eye out on my blog for the upcoming rerelease and new cover reveal for this book or pop over to the authors page http://mbfeeney.wordpress.com
