MacKenzie Decker was a question Avery never got to ask, much less answer.
They met when she was a young reporter fueled by ambition, and the ink on Deck's first NBA contract was barely dry. Years later, they've climbed so high and lost so much, but one thing hasn't changed. The attraction that simmered between them in a locker room before is still there. With success like theirs, everything has been possible . . .
except them.
But that was then.
The only question is...what about now?

Excerpt:
Soft and fresh like petals.            I’m a jock. Not a dumb one, but a jock nonetheless. I don’t describe a woman’s lips as soft and fresh or compare a kiss to flowers. Besides the few years I was married to Tara, if it opened its legs and said yes or please, I fucked it. I always rushed it. A man’s got needs, but I got in and I got out. This woman, this kiss, I have to savor. I’d be a fool not to. It’s a first kiss. I understand the difference now between the first time you kiss someone, and a first kiss. This is a discovery of tongues and lips and heat. An introduction of our souls, if that doesn’t sound too pussy-ish. It’s how I feel, though. Like as our lips brush back and forth, as our tongues tangle, as I taste her, mouthful by delicious mouthful, I’m learning her secrets. I’m telling her mine. My hand slides from the door to flatten into the warmth of her back through the silk blouse, bringing her incrementally closer. The air shifts and takes the shape of lust; assumes the form of want. The sound of her moaning, the slight lift and fall of her breasts against my chest, testifies that she feels it, too.            The elevator dings, and our bodies go still even as we keep exchanging breaths and heartbeats through our clothes; even though my mouth is still poised above hers. I have her against the door, and every curve of her body is impressing itself on me, making sure I’ll never forget how right we fit together. I look over my shoulder toward the elevator. The doors open, but no one gets off. That interruption was enough to bring her back to her senses, though. God knows I can’t find mine.            “Um . . . you should go,” she whispers, a muscle rippling along the smooth line of her jaw.            I bend to breathe over her mouth, so she can taste our kisses lingering on my lips. “Or you could invite me in.”            Her scent and the warmth of her body take my senses hostage. I smell her and want to kiss her again so badly it stings my taste buds. Her eyes already regret the last few moments I thought were so perfect. I can’t calm my emotions or my body that quickly.            “You don’t want to come in, Deck.”            “I assure you I do.”            A short laugh, deceptively light, breezes past her lips. She glances down to the floor and shakes her head.            “I’d make the worst one-night stand ever,” she says.            “One-night stand?” I take her chin in hand and lift, forcing her to look at me. “I’ve waited a long time for this path to be clear. No conflict of interest. No other people standing in our way. I don’t know exactly what I want, Avery, but it’s damn sure more than one night.”

My Review

his is a tricky one to review without giving away some important parts of the story so if it sounds vague at time it is because I am trying to help keep the mystery alive for you.

In this book we get to know Deck and Avery. From there very first meeting until the end there are fireworks and road blocks but these two are not easily deterred and deserve to find each other.

This book touches on topics they some may find upsetting. As a person who has personal experience in this topic I can say in my opinion this was done well and while it didn't shy away from the ugly parts it certainly managed to explain how the whole family is affected and all of the emotions that go along with it. I have to say reading this book was quite timely for me and a little bit healing too. I hope other can have a similar experience while reading this book as I did.
I have read along with all of the stories
and love seeing or hearing the other characters pop up in the books and fully recommend you get into this series. It is so much more then a shallow read it has so many layers. The only problem is I want more.

Deke - Eden Finley

Release Date: January 9, 2018
Cover Design: Kellie Dennis / Book Cover by Design

Synopsis

Ollie
Word of advice: don’t come out to random guys in public restrooms. Even if they’re charming and adorably nerdy and offer to help. My family believe I can’t be happy if I’m not out to the world. I have a bitter ex-boyfriend and an unstable NHL career to show for it. A fake boyfriend seems like an easy and quick solution to get my family off my back, and this guy is volunteering. I take him up on it without asking his name. I really should’ve asked for his name. Lennon Word of advice: learn how to introduce yourself properly. In my defense, I don’t recognize Ollie Strömberg right away. I cover football, not hockey. I’m not supposed to see him again, and he’s never supposed to find out I’m a reporter. That all changes when my editor reassigns me. It’s a lesson I should’ve learned by now. Nothing’s changed since high school. Jocks still hate nerds. But even worse, athletes hate journalists. Especially ones who know their secret.

Excerpt

“You want to watch a movie or something?” Ollie asks.
“A movie?” The bedside clock reads well past midnight, and I should go back to my hotel and get some sleep. Do I move to do that though? Of course not, because I always do questionable things around Ollie, starting with offering to be his fake boyfriend for a family dinner. “What about your roommate?”
“I’m allowed to have gay friends, Lennon.” His eyes seem uncertain, as if he doesn’t quite believe himself. “Or, I dunno, tell him you’re writing another article.”
This is walking a fine line, and I get the feeling if I stay, shit’s gonna get messy.
“I could stay for a movie.” Apparently, my mouth decides to send a big fuck you to the warnings running through my head. “What’ve you got?”
He taps away on his screen and pulls up a selection.
“Should’ve pegged you for an action, no brains needed, type of guy,” I say.
“Fine then.” He taps some more and pulls up a different folder filled with titles like Donnie Darko, Sin City, and Get Out.
“Ugh. Way too far the other way,” I complain.
“Are you the Goldilocks of movies? Here, look for whatever you want.” He passes me his tablet.
I scroll through the genres in his movie file, clicking on a few things but going back to the main folder seconds later. Ollie makes impatient noises, which makes me even pickier. He’s kind of hot when he’s snarky.
When I scroll down further, a folder catches my eye labeled in capital letters: PORN. “Good to know you don’t even try to hide your stash.”
I jokingly go to click on it, but he must think I’m actually gonna do it. A large hand wraps around my wrist, his grip firm but not painful, and I laugh.
“Calm down. As interested as I am to open it, it’s kind of like Pandora’s box. There could be clown porn in there or something, and then you’re not the one who’d be scarred for life.”
“Clown porn?” he asks while practically choking.
“There’s some really weird shit out there.”
He lets go of my hand. “What I want to know is what you’ve been looking up if you landed on clown porn.”
“It started out looking at guys in drag, and it went downhill from there.”
Ollie pulls back as if contemplating that. “Drag queens, huh? Is that your thing?”
“Oh, we are so not getting into this.” And I’m so not confessing the drag thing was out of curiosity. My true fantasy is jocks. Exactly like him. Not going to tell him that either. “You won’t let me see your collection, so you get nothing from me.”
He thinks about it for a moment before turning to me. “Well, now I want you to look. I feel like I need to defend my porn choices.”
Is he seriously suggesting I watch his porn? With him … like … right there?
The smug challenge in his eye almost has me pushing the button, but the slight blush on his cheeks makes me think he’s bluffing. God, I want to know what he’s into …
No! Bad Lennon.
That would only add to the conflicting feelings I already have for Ollie.
The icon mocks us as we stare at it, and then each other, and then away. God, we’re pathetic.
I click on the folder labelled Classics just so we can get away from temptation. My entire face lights up. “Wait. You think Thor is a classic? Where are the real ones like Cool Hand Luke and The Princess Bride? This is even more disturbing than your porn choices.”
“Hey, you never saw my porn choices.”
“I’m still going with clown porn.”

Unexpected Series - Ann Grech - 5*

Series Title: Unexpected
Titles: Whiteout ~ White Noise ~ Whitewash
Author: Ann Grech
Genre: M/M Romance
Release Date: Available NOW Whiteout is currently FREE

The closeted sports star and a straight paramedic, the heli-skiing trip that traps the two men on a mountain and a game of twenty questions. What could go wrong? Or will it be the moment they get all they’ve ever wanted? In discovering their bisexuality, will Reef and Ford be brave enough to reach for each other?

Pro-snowboarder, Reef Reid, is at the peak of his career. He has it all. Except the one thing he desperately wants: a lover, the white picket fence and his happily ever after. Disillusioned and exhausted, he flees to a tropical paradise to defrost.

But a ticketing mishap lands him in the ski village of Queenstown, New Zealand.
Stratford ‘Ford’ Wallace loves the ladies, but rarely sticks around longer than a night. Falling for a man wasn’t on the cards, but everything he knows is flipped on its head when the enigmatic Reef Reid literally drops out of the sky.
When a whiteout traps them on a mountaintop neither expects sparks to ignite. They’re unable to resist each other, but will they give into temptation? Or will the avalanche that tears through the mountain end them?
Whiteout is book one in Ann Grech’s international hit male/male romance series, Unexpected. Books 2 and 3 continue Reef and Ford’s story through the highs and lows of the pro-snowboarding circuit. You’ll fall in love, want to slap a certain someone or two and swoon over these two men who are made for each other.
Bisexual sports star, Reef Reid, is back in action on the slopes with his new boyfriend, paramedic, Ford Wallace by his side. Taking the next step in their relationship was supposed to be easy, but fate has other plans. Will they be able to hold out against the forces trying to tear them apart?
Paramedic and mountain rescuer, Stratford ‘Ford’ Wallace, fell hard and fast for pro-snowboarder, Reef Reid. For a ‘straight’ guy, falling in love with a dude was unexpected, but his attraction to Reef is undeniable. Neither of them have uttered those three little words yet, but Ford knows Reef feels the same. At least, he thinks he does.
Reef is smashing his pre-season training at Fernie, the idyllic Canadian snow resort, getting wicked air and landing what could be season-winning jumps. What’s even better is that his man is with him. Going home to Ford every night is what Reef always dreamed of—his very own happily ever after.
Knowing they’re ready, they take the next step in their relationship—meeting the parents. But when tragedy strikes on the slopes, can Ford push through the painful memories and be what Reef needs?
Ford will sacrifice himself, literally putting both his heart and his life on the line, to protect his man. But will it all be for nothing when Reef is presented with an offer that’s too good to refuse?
White Noise is book two in Ann Grech’s international hit male/male romance series, Unexpected. It can be read as a standalone, but it’s recommended that you read Whiteout first. Book 3 continues Reef and Ford’s story through the highs and lows of the pro-snowboarding circuit. You’ll fall in love and swoon over these two men who are made for each other.

Reef and Ford are back, and they’re playing for keeps. For their forever. It’s hard; harder than they ever imagined. But they’re strong. And even though falling for each other was unexpected, they’ll do whatever it takes to be together, including overcoming any obstacles in their path.

Pro snowboarder, Reef Reed, is on the precipice. His chance of winning the world championship is within reach. But he’s navigating a treacherous path, one which is full of incredible highs and soul-crushing lows. Crippling stress, insurmountable distances between him and his boyfriend, jealousy, and illness threaten everything he’s worked for. His relationship with Ford is tested in ways Reef couldn’t have fathomed.

Ford Wallace will do anything within his power to help his man soar high and achieve his dreams. But the season has been hard on both of them; watching all Reef’s hard work unravel from afar is unbearable for the healer at heart. So he fights—they both do—for their happiness and love, and they emerge on the other side stronger than ever before.
Whitewash is book 3 in Ann Grech’s international hit male/male romance trilogy, Unexpected. It can be read as a standalone, but it’s recommended that you’ve read Whiteout and White Noise first. You’ll fall for these two men who are absolutely made for each other.

K. D. Elendil – 5* “I had to read this in installments because I didn't want it to end.” ~ Whiteout

Louise McKay – 5* “Choosing to read this book for me was a major step out of my comfort zone. I don't read MM books… It's never appealed to me before but the blurb on this book made me want to read it… Reading this has made me realise, you can't generalise genres of books. If you do you may miss out on a hidden gem. That's how I feel about this book.” ~ Whiteout

Carle – 5* “Wow! FanF'ntastic. This book has it all. Bring on book 3!” ~ White Noise

Tina~Bookaliciousbabes – 5* “This was the ultimate end to a great series. Reef and Ford will forever be in my heart… I loved every second of it.” ~ Whitewash

By day Ann Grech lives the corporate world and can be found sitting behind a desk typing away at reports and papers or lecturing to a room full of students. She graduated with a PhD in 2016 and is now an over-qualified nerd. Glasses, briefcase, high heels and a pencil skirt, she’s got the librarian look nailed too. If only they knew! She swears like a sailor, so that’s got to be a hint. The other one was “the look” from her tattoo artist when she told him that she wanted her kids initials “B” and “J” tattooed on her foot. It took a second to register that it might be a bad idea.
She’s never entirely fit in and loves escaping into a book—whether it’s reading or writing one. But she’s found her tribe now and loves her MM book world family. She dislikes cooking, but loves eating, can’t figure out technology, but is addicted to it, and her guilty pleasure is Byron Bay Cookies. Oh and shoes. And lingerie. And maybe handbags too. Well, if we’re being honest, we’d probably have to add her library too given the state of her credit card every month (what can she say, she’s a bookworm at heart)!

Whitewash Review

Oh My Goodness what a finish to an amazing series. I hated to finish it and say goodbye to Ford and Reid but this is one of those series that you are so glad you read and can't quite remember your life before reading it.
What can I say about this story, words really can't describe how much I loved it enough. Ford and Reid were hot and sensitive yet alpha and were so dreamy I couldn't get enough of them.
The boys had their issues and even though one was a pro snowboarder I could still relate to them and felt every bump in their journey like it was my own.
I know every series must come to an end but if there were more books on Ford and Reid I would be lining up to read it. I hope the author reads this and writes a novella for their future story.
This is a must read in my opinion.

White Noise

I am so glad I have all 3 books to read at once because I love them so much i can only taking a quick break to leave a review and then I'm jumping into the final book.

I rated White Noise more than White Out which I thought was really good I just found this one even better. The boys have a great combination of sweetness and manliness. They are funny and sensitive and there are time I just want to hug them both. Their chemistry in the bedroom is off the charts and super steamy and has me crushing on these two boys really hard. I loved how the book progressed and felt like we saw something different and I look forward to the final installment. I just can't wait to get back to my Sweet and Hon.

White Out

This is a great start to a series. I was expecting it to feel a bit weird with two straight guys falling for each other bit actually it was nice and really romantic.
Reef the pro snowboarder and Ford are so sweet together. Don't get me wrong there is plenty of steam as well as some drama that keeps you turning pages.
I have read the next blurb so I have an idea what is coming and I can't wait to get started. I have my fingers crossed for a HEA for these two lovely guys.
