Sex Material - Victoria Ashley + my review

Title: Sex Material
Author: Victoria Ashley
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: November 26, 2018

Blurb

Sex Material
It’s what I’m known around town for.
A rock-hard body, covered in tattoos with a sizeable bulge that women spend their nights fantasizing about.
Women track me down, needing someone that will fuck them rough without holding back.
They find me because they need a distraction from reality. They need something to get their mind off of the boyfriend who screwed them over or the job promotion they got passed over on at work.
Sometimes it’s just because they need someone reckless in the bedroom before settling down with the right one.
‘Cause I’m sure as hell not that guy.
Nowhere close.
I’m not the suit wearing, flower-buying guy you take home to meet the parents. I’m not the guy who will make you feel all warm and fucking fuzzy inside.
Not anymore.
I was boyfriend material once. Would’ve even made a good husband. That was before everything good in my world got ripped away, leaving me broken beyond repair.
These women come to me because they need an escape to cope with the real world, but none of them know I need it more than them. I need something to make me feel alive. Something to get my heart beating again.
Then Cami shows up in my hometown, broken-hearted and pissed off at the world, needing an escape from her cheating ex.
She’s the only one that doesn’t want to use my body. In fact, she wants nothing to do with it and has no problems telling me so.
She’s interested in one thing only from me—to move into my rental property. But the problem with that is the more we fight, the deeper she buries herself in my soul.
Sex material is what I’m good at, but for the first time, it may not be enough.

Excerpt

When I look up Cami is standing barefoot in a little white summer dress with her long blonde hair pulled up into a lose bun.
The sight of her sun-kissed skin and long legs has my dick instantly hardening beneath my jeans, and the moment my gaze moves up to her scowling lips, it manages to harden even more.
“Is this even a real application?” She holds the paper up and points at one of the extra questions I added before printing it. “How many times a week did Douglas make you come? Really?"
“It’s definitely a real application.” I stand, wiping my hands down my jeans. “Did you answer every question?”
She shakes her head and lets out a sarcastic laugh. “Did I… did I answer every question? Of course I didn’t, because there’s at least three that are irrelevant to me living here. You’re insane if you think I’m going to give you that kind of information.”
Shaking my head in disappointment, I move toward Cami, stopping once I’m standing right in front of her. “Then you didn’t listen.” I point out. “I told you to complete the application and bring it back to me within a few hours, and here you are four fucking hours later standing in my kitchen with an incomplete form.”
She swallows nervously, her gaze roaming over my half-naked body as I take another step closer to her, my arms now on either side of her waist, her back against the counter. “Now answer the fucking question, Cami.”
“Who said he made me come weekly?” she questions stiffly. “Maybe I can’t answer that question.”
“What a shame,” I say against her neck, before moving my lips up it, stopping just beneath her ear. “Want to know how many times a week I would make you come?” When she doesn’t say anything, I lick my lips and continue. “Fourteen.”
“You do realize there’s only seven days in a week, right?” Her voice is weak, and I can’t help but hope it’s from my body being so close.
“Exactly,” I whisper in her ear. “But that’s just the number of times I would, not the number that I could.”
“You’re full of it.” She places her hands on my chest, causing me to take a slight step back.
“Am I?” I grip her waist with both hands. “I could prove right now that I’m not.”

My Review
This is another great book by Victoria Ashley. I really enjoy her writing style. It is to the point and moves along at a good speed.

The two characters Jensen and Cami were great. Jensen is a bad boy with some issues but shows redeeming qualities that managed to win over me and Cami. Then there was Cami with her own issues but was able to  stand up to Jensen's B.S.

I have to say this book definitely got better as I went along. As Cami and Jensen's relationship grew and their stories were revealed I was able to connect and enjoy it more.

I also have to mention that this book is more than the blurb . I was definitely surprised with how deep it got and how much I was cheering these two on. I am glad to have taken the time to get to know Jensen and Cami

Confessions of a Chatterbox - Abigail Davies plus review

Title: Confessions of a Chatterbox
Series: Confessions Series #2
Author: Abigail Davies
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: November 8, 2018

Confession One: I was a self-confessed chatterbox.
Words were my best friend.
They loved me almost as much as I loved my pajamas and unwashed hair.
Confession Two: I hated outside people.
I was happiest sitting on my sofa, my favorite show in the background,
and my laptop open while I worked.
Being my own boss was freaking awesome.
So why the heck had I accepted this new teaching job on campus?
Going back to the sunny state was the last thing I wanted to do.
It was only meant to be for one day—one talk.
But life had a funny way at throwing you for a loop.
Confession Three: I was the best secret keeper.
It was ironic considering I never stopped talking.
But I’d do anything for my best friend.
Until him.
Confession Four: I’d never met anyone like him.
He was different, but not in the way that everyone else viewed him.
He made my heart stutter and my breath catch.
But worst of all, he made my words disappear.

Abigail Davies grew up with a passion for words, storytelling, maths, and anything pink. Dreaming up characters—quite literally—and talking to them out loud is a daily occurrence for her. She finds it fascinating how a whole world can be built with words alone, and how everyone reads and interprets a story differently. Now following her dreams of writing, Abigail has found the passion that she always knew was there. When she’s not writing: she’s a mother to two daughters who she encourages to use their imagination as she believes that it’s a magical thing, or getting lost in a good book. If she’s doing neither of those things, you can be sure she’s surfing the web buying new makeup, clothes, or binge watching another show as she becomes one with her sofa.

My Review

This is a bit tricky for me to review. I felt like at the start we were dropped into the story mid author thought. Like when someone makes a comment to you that makes sense to them because they know what they are talking about but for you it doesn't fully make sense. That's how I felt.

I really liked both characters and this is not the first book I have read where a character has autism but you don't seem then regularly and it really opens your eyes and shows that people are more than a label that we put on them.

I felt like the book really started to click in the second half and I could start to see why Ella was attracted to JJ.

I have to say there were bits I was really moved in and others that were a little iffy but it was ALWAYS funny. You could rely on Ella to come out with something hilarious.

I really enjoyed book one in this series and I did like this but not love . I will recommend you read the series because it is still very funny and it is different. It is sometimes good to take a break from the cookie cutter romance books that are often pumped out.

I love the MAC security series from this author too so I am looking forward to reading more from her.

My review

Warning this is one of those books that once you start you can't put down and before you know it it's 2am and you have a huge book hangover the next day.

I loved everything about I Bet You. The two main characters we beautiful. Penelope was so down to earth she was so easy to connect with and Ryker was the right combination of sweet and sexy for me. I could even forgive the chest hair haha.

I have recently finished another book that ran along a similar theme with bets going wrong. it this one was so much better I could not turn the page fast enough for more.

The storyline was predictable. You could tell what was going to go wrong almost from the beginning but that didn't make it any less enjoyable it was more like waiting in the eye of the storm you knew something was coming but not when.

I loved the supporting characters and hope Blaze and Charisma get their own story as well.

I love this author. Her writing style just clicks with me. I never hesitate to read a new book from her and she hasn't let me down with this one.
